Give quality something to measure
ISO 9001 is a reference for quality management. For a website or business tool, that thinking can help turn a broad ambition into a defined requirement, an agreed review and a useful acceptance check.
A practical example: agree which service details a buyer must find, ask a representative person to locate them, then record what needs improving. The project brief determines which checks are appropriate.
Think through the information first
ISO/IEC 27001 is a reference for information security management. It encourages questions about the information involved, the risks around it and who should have responsibility for protection.
For an optional client workspace, that means discussing the records it would hold, the people allowed to see them, the services it would connect to and the recovery arrangements it would need before building a login screen.
Keep the reference in proportion
The footer symbols identify these areas of thinking. They do not establish that Page & Process, DS Repro or an individual website has been independently certified. Any certificate requested for a project needs checking against its named holder, current validity and the activities covered.
Agree what belongs to your project
Darren can help identify the approval steps, responsibilities and evidence your organisation needs. A regulated requirement or procurement condition should be raised at the start so the proposed work can be assessed against it.

For the standards' purposes, read ISO's own introductions to quality management and information security management. The project examples on this page are our explanation of how those questions can inform a brief.
